Projects Management - Module Overview

Projects module typically applies to capital and customer oriented projects like customer specific manufacturing and fabrication jobs, erection commissioning, construction, product development, special purpose activities like quality certification, software projects and so on. It offers facilities for planning, budgeting, and controlled (budgeted) consumption of money, material, personnel, and equipment.

Projects module offers following functionality :

• Definition of resource types in terms of money, skill-sets, material, individuals, and specific machine    or equipment.

• Definition of activities and resource requirement for them.

• Definition of projects (project master) that has information about individual projects, activities    associated, planned requirement of resources, and sequencing information (precedence) of activities    defined.

• Interface for planning of activities, and planning of resources for each of the activities.

• Recording of actual consumption of resources through integration with other modules.

• Recording of activity completion status.

• Interface to revise rolling schedules and change resource allocation.

• Costing of activities, and control of activities in terms of time and resource consumption.

• Facility to book material for projects through integration with materials management module.

• Reporting on project status, slippages, activity status, and resource consumption status.

• Reporting across projects, also giving variance.
